Sunday night Valve held an exhibition match against "20ID" and "The Experiment" to get a better feeling for the competitve side of TF2 and to try to get in better touch with the gaming community. It was a 12 on 12 match with 12 Valve devs on one team and 6 members each of "20ID" and "The Experiment" on the other.

Taken from pwnage.tv's website:

"Valve Corporation, AMD, the Total Gaming League, MyInternetServices.com, and Pwnage.tv are proud to present a unique exhibition match between the creators of Team Fortress 2 and the two top-ranked US teams. After defeating 12 teams combined in the AMD Roughneck Challenge, the final two teams competed for the Grand Prize on TF2's cp_well map, where '20ID' defeated 'The Experiment' with a score of 4-2 in a very entertaining match. The AMD Roughneck Challenge tournament was hosted by the TGL and sponsored by AMD, along with seventeen other amazing partners.Besides winning $4,000 in cash and six ATI video cards between the two teams, they also won the extremely rare opportunity to play the talented developers of the game they all love to compete in!"

For all interested, the video stream of the match is here, along with a short interview with Robin Walker:

You can also get a .dem file of part of the match here, you have to register 1st, though. (it's free registration)

I just watched the match today, couldn't see any of it on Sunday due to pwnage.tv's servers being overburdened with viewers. Valve uses some underhanded tactics as the match goes on. I found it a fun watch.

Those flaming ubers were indeed pretty sweet to watch. I'm pretty sure that, however it was done, it involved one of the Valve pyros going around flaming his own teammates.
