I use crafty to quick look into new maps.
It is a fast and easy way, and works good enough to get a first impression of a map.
So to get more (re)views here is how:
Download crafty
http://nemesis.thewavelength.net/index.php?p=46
install it assign it to the bsp file format.
After installing it, start it set it to team fortress 2 by setup>profiles>team fortress 2 now exit it.
Crafty is now installed and configured.
You can view a map by just downloading it and opening the bsp file without extracting or installing the map.
This is much faster then downloading, installing, starting a server etc.
Off course if you like the map please start up a server and do a decent review.
