Just thought I'd share my submission for the Star Wars uncut project. I did my 15 second segment in Hammer Editor and played it through with TF2 while recording it with the WeGame client.

I ran out of time and didn't get to remix the sound, but overall I'm still happy with it. In the end, I kind of like the sounds of the blasters instead of the tf2 weapons anyway. But it really would have been great to get some good voice actors to redo the lines in the voices of the scout and the soldier.

Anyway, you can see my clip here: [ame="http://vimeo.com/6745647"]http://vimeo.com/6745647[/ame]

The original clip is here: http://www.starwarsuncut.com/#/scene/346

Thanks to TF2maps.net. I couldn't have done it without digging through all the Hammer tips on here.

I have to disagree, a jump every 15 seconds to something completely new, for a feature length film will be painful to watch.

Its a nice idea and all... and your part is pretty cool... but I can't help but feel it's gunna suck majorly

Well thinking abotu it like that...unless all the characters remain the same throughout I suppose...

I still think it will look pretty good though.

It very well could end up being unwatchable. Plus, there will definitely be alot WTF moments. But I'm just holding out for 15 seconds of genius here and there.

My guess:

As a movie, it's going to suck epic sweaty balls in hell.

As an amusing community project, it's going to be pretty fun.

So, why haven't you done the bit 10 seconds later, when the Scout kisses the Soldier "for luck"? :)

There's a few clips that are actually pretty clever, such as this tf2 one and some other random ones you can find, but most of these are just poorly made home videos that some random kid did with no thought or planning.

Maybe I'm just being a snobbish film student, but I can't help be think this is going to turn out pretty awful. Either that or it's going to get swept up by lucasarts for copyright issues...
