Replaying SourceTV Demo's

I got a little problem with this. Not to actually play it up, but to move around and focus on the fighting in the map.

I downloaded yesterdays SourceTV Demo from Fridays gameday. I would have no problem at all looking around in it if it was recorded from a client. But SourceTV is not a client, its a AI. I looked around on google and youtube but didnt find anything to help me.

I tried both Demoui and demoui2. I tried the Drive button on demoui but that only lets you look around, not move wherever you want to.

So anyone had any problems with this? Anyone knows how to help me out here?

Progress: +forward;wait 200;-forward moves you forward for like 3 secs then stops. But you cant bind this to a key while in a demo. And keep typing that in console just doesnt work when your trying to fix balancing issues.

It does let you move around....

The drive feature is part of the smoother, so you have to load it up like you were going to use the smoother. Try this:

- Launch Tf2, hit shift+f2
- Start Demo
- When it start playing, hit pause in the Demo UI window
- Take note of the start and end tick
- Click smooth
- Enter the start and stop tick
- click reload

Now the entire demo is loaded in to the smoother. In order to watch it while having smoother tools available, use the "Show Original", "<<" and ">>" buttons in the smoother window (not the normal pause/play button). Now you can turn drive on, click/hold mouse1 and noclip around. As long as you're holding mouse1 you can around in noclip like normal.

so it goes:

start demo
load into smoother
while smoother is playing turn drive on and fly around

Decided to bump this thread again. I never got the chance to try the idea you had l3eeron. But I just tried and it didnt work. The >> and << buttons are all grayed out, and you still cant fly around using the Drive button.

Any ideas? How do you other folks do it? Many request the SourceTV demo from gameday, but how do you watch it? If you even download it

I load up the demo via 'demoui', then I click play, turn it off and move myself around. I think that's how I did it for a recent demo.

Yeah, I don't really see the problem.. Pressing the space bar (a few times) should solve it if you aren't moving already..
