Pivot point automatically centering itself

I'm trying to change the point where a door moves to make a vent opening like a latch, but every time i change that point it resets itself when i click off. I've tried restarting, making a new brush and resetting my options but nothing is working

i have been trying to fix this for 30 minutes i am going insane

sometimes hammer just breaks for no apparent reason, failing to recognise block states. happened to me several times. try restarting it

No idea how or why, but this problem magically fixed itself and I didn't even do anything
