I thought a cp game, where there are 4 or 3 points surrounding a middle point. A small group of blue team members attacks each outer point, and the red team have to defend each of them. It is impossible to reach the middle point till you have one control point. When blu get a point, a gateway will open to the middle point, where that small group of blu's will try to capture the middle point. Once all the points but the middle one is captured, the entire blu team can attack that point.

Not necessarily. I could imagine an equally interesting map inspired by that drawing yet utilizing alpine scenery, much like pl_great_heights.
