Ok, was thinking of different unique map ideas i could come up with and i thought of this.

First stage: Symmetrical ctf map.

If either teams cap, switches to another stage where whomever capped is now defending their intel deep inside their base. The enemy team must take the intel from the defending side and cap it back at their base before time runs out. If the defending team fails to defend it, then it switches to the enemy base where the enemy must now defend.

Basically a multi-stage map but with CTF and different game rules. Im just wondering how hard it would be or if its even possible to do. Maybe switch to attack defend style flags for the stages. If thats at all possible.

Maybe even incorporate it into my boat setting, and have a floor for each team.

had loads of fun on it on game day.

but to your post, i think it is possible with some fancy trigger work.

I think it's a brilliant idea. But again, the biggest problem is going to be hud. On the other hand, since it's strictly flag based, you should be able to do a level transition like in Dustbowl/Hydro without issue. First you finish Cruise :p Then experiment and let us know how it goes.

I imagine it would be quite simple to do in reality. would this me like the original dustbowl? (has never played TFC and has only heard that Dustbowl was ctf originally)

Ya dustbowl was a multi stage reverse-ctf map


It should be workable, as long as you dont plan on adding an actual CP in the mix.


Sounds like a great idea actually, you could use the attack/defend intel mode too

Is it possible to have normal mode on first stage then change it to attack/defend mode?

Perfectly, you just need to tell it to restrict one team from winning on the second stage and have a game_win that lets them win on the timer countdown.

I was actually thinking of making a map like this a little while ago, but I got sidetracked with a map im working on now. I think it would be extremely fun, like dustbowl, but the battle could end up anywhere! someone on these boards showed me how to make it so that as the flag gets further away from the base, the longer the flag takes to respawn when dropped. maybe you could incorporate that into your map?
