I finally have figured out how to make targets that break when shot and respawn after a given amount of time! The next challenge will be getting these targets to move around the map.
I've tried creating a new brush and naming it Platform. I then tied the platform to func_tracktrain and created a polygonal route for the platform using path_track. Finally, I moved the target on top of the platform, parented the target to the platform, and put a Start Forward output in an auto_logic entity.
When I tested it, everything seemed to be working perfectly, right up until I shot my target. The target respawned after a few seconds back at the starting position instead of on top of the platform! The target still moved with the platform, but it was floating around out in space. Clearly, this can't happen or my movement timings are going to be all off on my sniper training map after the player has shot the target the first time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
