Making a map for {OTD}

Hello Everyone,

I am new to your forum. I was directed here by a friend of mine who makes maps but was unable to create one for me. I have found a picture and I think it would make a fantastic map on our server. If anyone is interested in making this map for our server would you please contact me either in forum or in pm. Thanks mappers.

This has been asked before, and Ill say the same to you....

We all love mapping so we're knee deep in the middle of one. Unless you have some outrageously great idea, I doubt anyone will have time to entertain your request at the moment.

Still, Im interested in your ideas! Draw up a quick sketch or somethin, along with a good description.... you never know what might happen. You might spark an idea in some far off tangent for someone else.

Yeah, give us an idea. I have yet to release any work, BUT, I'm making alot of progress and am learning more and more with each map I make and trash.

I'm looking for a good idea, yours could be the one. Lay it on us man!

Youme and L3eeron pretty much covered it. Give a description of what you want, a couple pics, etc. It's nigh impossible to get started without some basic ideas.

That picture is beautiful! you're probably looking at some custom textures for that one. Definetly some custom skybox models.

Gotta admit, it certainly flies in the face of the whole industrial/mining gig. I kinda like it...

Hey there,I'm the maps master for {OTD} and I want this to be a map,
I kinda want it to be a CP map with 4 CPs,tghe finial one os to be the one spot onyour left towards the middle,with maybe another one right below it in the lower left hand corner.
I know this is going to be a pretty decent cjallange but I think with the right person it can be done,and done good.
As for spawn points,I would say 3 on the offensive and 3 on the defense,but that is open for discussion.
I come here looking for help and thinking that this may be the group of people to do this for me.
It should be class friendly for everyone and not turn into a big sniper orgy.
Let me know what else you need and I will respond as needed.

You sound as if you've put a lot of thought into this already. Are you not going to make the map yourself so you can call it your own and make it exactly as you want?

Are you looking for a literal recreation of this picture, or just something inspired by the pic?

Just looking at the picture and the layout, it makes me think it would be suited to a Dustbowl-style CP map.

Well an inspiration/recreation,I know that the picture cannot be completely recreated into a map but I would like it to be as close as possible.

Looks more like a cryengine2 map than a source engine map. heh.

has there been any progress on this? id imagine it would take some crafty brush work. the setting is original, and it would be something different than mining/industrial.

Thanks for bumping this thread. If a dustbowl style attack/defend suits your style let me know and I can start drafting the layout this weekend.

I'm currently working on another project, but it's just about ready for a closed alpha test and am looking for something else to work on.
