koth_payload - A Tug of War PLR KotH hybrid map

The map contains two payloads on the same track facing each other with 3 control points spread out over the track. The goal is to bring your timer to 0 first. You activate your timer by owning more control points than the other team. If you control all three control points, then your timer ticks down twice as fast. When the carts meet, the team with more people pushing, pushes the other cart backwards.

The map is just a prototype with a simple layout to test the gamemode.

My server tried a quick playthrough of this. The concept is interesting to people. As-is, this feels a lot like warpath or other 5CP maps with a lot of push-and-pull over the same ground, except this ends at some point with the overall dominating team winning. This is a bit orthogonal to what you're trying to do, but not so sure the payload side of things is the best part about the concept, I think a 3 or 5CP variant with the same concept (more points = your time ticks down) would be popular with a certain segment of our players. That would just be domination on the surface, though.

Updated to Prototype 4

Added new routes
Added text to let people know owning the final point makes the clock tick down faster
Added a mirco stair to allow people to get on the platform without jumping
Capping the first point before the other team caps their first point no longer starts the clock, only capping the center point
Adjusted the func_tracktrain to hopefully make shooting near the train better
