Hello there, everyone. I'm jakemaheu, but you might know me as [nom³] Blargy on Steam and in the TF2maps.net chat room. Recently, I've started up my very own little dedicated server. Everyone, I'd like you to meet:
There's a little story behind this, actually. For a very long time, I couldn't afford the Orange Box, leaving me with only HL2M and Lost Coast. When I played HL2M for the first time, my mind was blown by the massive number of servers to choose from. I looked through, trying to find one with a small number of players that didn't belong to a clan. Eventually, I arrived at Ryandor's Deathmatch Server. It was run, of course, by a man named Ryandor. When I started playing, everyone was extremely kind and patient with this newbie and eventually I got to know them much better. At one point, we even started a clan, which you can recognize by the tag -=HOC=-. Ryandor himself actually does quite a bit of mapping on the older engine, creating several maps for us to play on.
To make a long story short, we've been having some server problems since the latest SRCDS update (READ: VALVE BROKE EVERYTHING), so I thought it was time to do something special. I had prepared a small system and installed SRCDS on it, configured for TF2. As an homage, I gave it a name that acts as a tribute to one of the people who helped me become more comfortable with online gaming and mapping.
I've added a small handful of plugins, a few utilitarian (FistPie to stop the DR exploit, teamtalk to be able to switch back and forth) and a few for fun. If you read the above image, you'll see that there are only a few, but there are actually several on the server that I simply haven't enabled (they're for fun-times, you see).
So come on in and have a look! While I don't have a completely static IP, the server is on the browser, and there'll be a link below to connect to it. It's a 24 player server with crits and spread enabled. I'm hoping to make this a fun server for everyone to play on. For those of you wondering, the server is located in Michigan, in my living room. If you have any problems, please do not hesitate to email me at:
I'm also interested in having another admin (someone trustworthy) to help maintain the server while I'm offline (or at school). If you think you've got the patience and the cojones to handle such an exciting position, please send me either a PM or an email at the above address.
Finally, to connect, simply click below.
