How would i go about making a garage door?

I'm currently using a rotating door to do this. It should work, but it doesn't, because apparently everything that can be simple as a push of a button has to be like threading a needle

by default, rotating doors rotate on the z axis (left/right). your door should go up and down, meaning it should be on x axis or y axis. check x axis flag and see if the door behaves how you want it to. if not, uncheck x axis and check y axis.
