Horrors of the Past - 8/7/2024 Gameday

Let me tell you a tale, a tall tale I heard over a long-extinguished campfire in the woods. It was a tale of TF2 maps, and TF2Maps, a tale that rang of nightmarish figures of swamps, of forests, and of deserts. A tale of the disasters, maps with abandoned homes or monstrous makers that anyone would quiver in fear at the sight of. From contests of old, I bring you a tale of seven frightfully ferocious failures that rarely see the light of day now. It's time to quake in your boots at the lights dim in the sky.

Horrors of the Past strikes onto the scene with its 7-map run of "critical failures." Journey with me through some of the maps that placed at the bottom of their respective contests and let's see if we can't find some diamonds in the rough, shall we?

Semantics, but calling these maps failures I don't think is appropriate. Quagmire is a hidden gem and inspired me for my own swamp maps. I'd replace the word "failures" with maybe "forgotten", because none of these maps are failures at all.
