I started using hammer not too long ago, when double clicking normal entities their properties tab opens, but when i click on triggers the VisGroup tab opens up, how do i see the properties of triggers?

You need to actually tie the trigger brush to an entity. To do that, right click the trigger brush and select tie to entity.
