I think you've got a good theme going, you just gotta do something about the neon green. It's almost like light bulbs on a night map.. they draw the eye and the attention gets stuck there.

Which means you're either going to have to pick a slime that has more subdued colors, or use the slime extremely sparingly.

Jarate as an environmental hazard sounds like a good idea. Walk under it and get covered in it, after a while you'll drown. Is that possible?
