Grass

[Haggis]

This is a picture of grass in pl_goldrush

How do you do it.It is not a model,i cant find an overlay and when i click on the displacement and delete it the grass disappears.I have tried the same texture but the grass does not appear when compiled,can anyone help please.

You've got goldrush open in hammer, got to map>map properties, you'll see two lines containing various combinations of the words "detail" and "sprites" copy the keyvalues from those into your map's 'map properties', use the same texture and it will work. It might not show up in hammer but it should show up ingame.

 

[Armadillo of Doom]

This is a feature of displacements called 'alpha'. Click your displacement and look for the tab 'paint alpha'. This is what you use to blend textures between different parts of the map.
