Can't find the sniper weapon source models, ready to murder some orphans.

So basically, I'm at the point where I want some sense of scale for the modelling, and also a comparison, for some sniper weapons I'm making. So where can I find the decompiled models for the TF2 sniper rifle/kukri/etc? I noticed that here they said "we released them" but gave no link. All I saw in the TF2 files was .mdl files, which are compiled already (and we all know how incredibly reliable decompiled files will be).

So, before some orphanage goes down in a mysterious blaze, can someone point me to the source files so I don't have to waste *another* 3 hours on this?

EDIT - That's what you get for not reading the post, sorry but I'm pretty sure decompiling is the only way to go, you might be able to find the decompiled stuff else ware though...

Ignore from here down...

You need to get them and decompile them, i'm sketchy on the details but you need GCFscape, using it open c:\\program files\steam\steam apps then chose team fortress 2 content

When you're inside that, go to tf\models\weapons and then among the many selections, you should find the ones you're looking for

On regards to decompiling the models for the software you need, I'm unsure. Try googling it and it might come up somewhere

That brings me to my other problem.

I've tried GCFscape before, and it very enthusiastically disagrees with me and my computer, and absolutely refuses to work.

Surely there's a decent resource, how many people have been modelling for TF2 anyways? Maybe there'll be something on polypack..

But seriously, if there isn't anything can someone upload it for me? Just the sniper weapons, decompiled.

Also, whats what I get for not reading which post?

Source modelling tools are few and far between, so you'll just have to deal with cannonfodder for the time being. Besides, if you're just using it for reference then you don't need THAT good a source model.

Yea, and then theres the problem that GCFscape crashes. Again and again. So in terms of decompiled models, I'm pretty much marooned here.

Also, am I missing something here? "Source modelling" - do you mean stuff that can import stuff into Source, or stuff that lets you model stuff from source, or what? What's cannonfodder anyways?

Also, I have no clue how many polys I should have, and also I've noticed how the TF2 sniper rifle has a lever when reloading, and I want to take a closer look at that, for starters.
