@Aly. being stuck in the ground wouldn't make the ground dark it would make the tracks dark.
But the props giving off shadows is disabled...so you're telling me they're making shadows even though they are specifically told not to?

No. I'm telling you that turning the shadows off isnt the right responce to the problem of them casting shadows. Compile with -staticproppolys and you don't need to turn the shadows off because it
only just darkens the ground where they are and looks quite natural.
Since you have shadows when they're set to not shadow, you may have inadvertantly duplicated the props without changing their location. because the flicker from zfighting is one texture or.... the same texture, you can't see it. then if you select one and not the other when you're disabling shadows the other will still cast bounding box shadows (no collision mesh method for shadows). Check by selecting the tracks (individually not with a box selection) then moving them slightly.
