Expermientet with names such as 'Fresh', 'Frash', 'Frish' etc until it was time to get some sleep. The last name I wrote was apparently 'Frush'. I kept it because I was too lazy to change it...

I've been using "Terr" for something over a decade now. It doesn't need a reason anymore.

It was originally "Terran", back before the term had entered popular culture through various means such as Starcraft.

It used to be longer, from Warhammer 40k. Honorifica Imperialis. That was too long to type so, I shortened it (and added some random letters) But now I just use Honor because no one know what it is. >.>

I've had the same name give or take for 10-11 years..

Starting on Q3A dreamcast it asked me a name. spending more then an hour trying to find something catchy but still really wanting to play the game after still not getting past the first screen. My first name is Dan, but i needed it to flow with something else. "Jive" meaning a few things but could mean talk, mislead.

Being an FPS and my first "social" game i figure "talking" makes sense and "misleading" in FPS world could mean to mislead an opponent.

So out came DannyJive47.

I used that for about a year then dropped the number because it was cliche..
next year i dropped the "danny" because i -HATE!- guy names that end with "E" sound.

So i used DanJive for a LONG time and also a few other user tags, even "DJ" for a time.

refined 8 years later i use DJive or Jive on most forums and DJive in most all games.

My name is Edge. Edge is taken everywhere. Littleedge. My three other aliases are ones I hope many don't know.

The only good story I've got is The Story of Edge's Obsession with Clipping but that's for another thread, another time.

Christmas of 2007 I received a PS3 and The Orange Box. My friend who wanted me to get the PS3 and OB uses the PSN EightAxis, and when I went to set up my PSN, I couldn't think of a name, so joking with him, we decided I should be NineAxis. But I didn't capitalize the A. So I'm Nineaxis.

When I was 10, I was reading some books called The Keys to The Kingdom. I liked the one called Grim Tuesday, especially. It was also around that time, or a few years later that I bought Supreme Commander, and created an account on the GPGnet forums. With a lack of any good name, I decided to call myself Grim Tuesday, the villan of the book, and if I may say so myself, quite a good choice for my "permanat" internet name!

The "PL" in my username used to stand for ... something (not my initials), but that was back in darker, nerdier times. :O I no longer consider there to be any connection between my earliest and current usernames as only those two letters are common between them. They don't stand for anything now, nor do I know what I'd want them to be an abbreviation for if I were to make them be one.

The "7764" was an arbitrary number that I happened to pick for my first-ever email account (I think I was 13 at the time :p). I have a newer one that I use now for more important stuff and that I use exclusively when dealing with real-life people. That super-old email address is the one I associate with forum accounts (including here on TF2Maps) and for my Windows Live Messenger account.

I use the hyphen some places and don't in others, mostly based on whether or not the site being registered for allows punctuation in usernames.

And that's my fancy story...

Back in my younger days I was making a super hero movie starring my friends and me in Mario Paint. And my character was named J. the Blade, with J being short for Josh, and "The Blade" because, well, his weapons were two swords. Then later wrestling was big in our circle with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and them. So my friend and I adopted our own similiar nicknames, his being The Ice, and me being The Blade in honor of our childhood characters. So I would always sign off Josh "The Blade" Roden. And then for online I just dropped my first name.

Bonus fact: Back when I first went online in 1998, my favorite game at the time was Turok 2, so I named my first username after one of the enemies, the Lord of the Flesh. But after a while I realized "lordoflesh" sounded a liiiittle gay porno-ish, so that's when I changed to TheBladeRoden, because it sounds much less phallic :p

I think I've had about 4 or 5 usernames before 'Ravidge', and a countless amount of 1 time login names. But some time ago (5-6 years) I got fed up with constantly changing and remembering old names I barely used. So I just decided to come up with something good that I could use everything.
So I just jumbled letters around in my head until something stuck.

Sorry, there is no interesting story. Just a name that works, and causes people to unconsciously misspell "ravage" after long exposure.

Simple. I made my username when I signed up for a Star Wars fansite. I was 11 at the time, and I was "the man", but that was taken. It's just what I go by now, and I'm too lazy to come up with something else and remember my different usernames.

How did I get my name? You may think I got it from the name of a spell card in the game Magic http://www.distrimagic.com/images/20090823115452-dragonstorm.jpg but i didn't. I first had a username Bassboy264 (as in the instrument not the fish) when I joined the online game Neopets (don't even ask about that it's an even longer story). I used that for a while until I wanted to join a Sims 2 modding community site (for more interesting ways to tourture them and actually more ways for architecture this actually started me out getting interested in mapping since it was the only game in our house that had a simple way to build) well, i had to choose a username and I was tired of using my old name so I thought of a name using dragon (cause they are awsome) and decided to put storm in back of it. Then when I put it in it wanted numbers, so I just put 264 in back of it. This was later shortened to 24.
that's my story

I loved the character of The End from MGS3, so originally I went with that. Soon, I found a site I wanted to log into that had it taken. At the same time, I alternated between using The End and Penguin. I ended up combining the two to make Sniper Penguin. Then I found a new game that had a 12 letter limit, so I went with sniprpenguin. Ta-dah.

Well, initially I used the name "Xezivex" quite often. That was back in the day when consoles were the only way to get quality gaming. As soon as my family became acquainted with THE INTERWEB, I noticed that nearly everyone had an exciting-sounding made-up name with little to no meaning (ie, me), a stupid name with numbers (GenericName37), a name with "frame" characters ("xXx DESTROYER xXx"), or A NaM3 W1tH NumB3rz @nd jUnk 1n IT. Nearly all of which were highly unappealing to me. No offense to anyone who does have any of the above, I just don't like it; it leads me to believe the person is either lazy or a void of creativity. NEVERTHELESS... I scrapped Xezivex for a more practical name, one I could keep for a while. The main reason behind this is because I figured everyone online hates the prick who has a supposed ultra-badass name (Vengeance Annihilator, etc.) who gets a few lucky/good rounds or so. Usually anger ensues. I came to the conclusion that I would make a witty, but silly name because its demeaning to be killed by the likes of someone named "Fluffums". I got the name "Wimples" from one of my friend's cats. It was dead, so the name was fair game. Then later I added "Mr." because just plain Wimples wasn't too respectable, It needed that sophisticated buff. I later discovered that wimple was an actual word. Regardless, the name stands to this day.

Wow I can't believe I didn't recognize that name. I remember that book quite well, even though I found the fourth and first one to be more interesting (first is first, then fourth, second, then third, then fifth). Interestingly enough, I was thinking about that book today, ruminating about xylophone songs versus a replication of a beautiful (silver or platinum?) and gold tree sold on the docks of some trading post at some time on earth.

Anyways, I'm a little sad to say that I'm not cool enough to have a name that I made up myself. I'll try and keep this interesting though.

IN THE BEGINNING--- There was Nipper. It was the name of my cat, thus it was my name online. Nipper served me for quite a few years, appearing in many forms such as Nipper, Nip the foo, or .:Nip The Foo:..

THEN CAME THE ERA OF LINERIDER, and so my internet name was changed forever. I assumed my normal name, Nip the foo, on the iridethelines.org forums, but after watching a linerider video titled 'Absurd!st Movement,' my avatar name universe was changed forever.

I then attempted to assume the name of 'Absurdist Movement' for other forums, but it proved too long. It only exists now as my email address (absurd1stm0v3m3nt).

ONCE XBOX LIVE KICKED DOWN THE DOOR with the entrance of Halo 2 (PC) into my life, I made an xbox account titled 'Absurdist of'. Unfortunately there was never a conclusion as to what kind of Absurdist I was. So now, the name is left as a cryptic cliffhanger for which those curious enough to do so may muse over. The official explanation is that I am the Absurdist of whatever it is that I am currently doing.

ALL THIS WOULD BE COMPLETELY BORING WITHOUT THE VIDEO, SO HERE IT IS:
