Great :thumbup1:
Can't wait to see your next Project ;) (after reelfoot)

Oh its almost done, trust me and its looking badass. I can't really talk much about it though :D I'll post it sometime in the next week or so and this time I'll release it in alpha so I don't get bitching from people. I'm doing some private testing on it before I release it publicly and then it will go from a1 to b1. :D

You're making testing private? Why on earth would you do that? Going from an alpha to a beta without as much testing as possible, public alpha tests included, is a terrible idea. Some of the major drawbacks of outback were the balancing issues, and those were never properly addressed--that's what happens when you go straight from layout to detailing without testing. Changes that need to be made never get there. You can't expect a quality product without serious testing.

Who said anything about NOT being serious? The place where I do my "private" testing is mostly filled with mappers so they know what to look for, its not filled with random people and whatnot.

If the testing was as serious as you claim it is, it would have shown itself in outback. But it wasn't. And it doesn't show. And that's what happens with private testing. It's inaccurate, infrequent, and doesn't represent the wide variety of players who would normally play your maps. Public testing is an imperative.

Look, if you "think" that Outback wasn't balanced or whatever that's your "idea" but to other people its balanced and to me so I really don't care what people say.

Just because you think it's balanced, and 'other people' think it's balanced doesn't mean it is.

You may think I'm trying to give you a hard time, but it's stuff you need to hear. The continued ignorant neglect to obvious facts doesn't fix anything.

SWATY, Rexy has a point. You either don't give a damn what other people think, think you're better than everyone else, or you don't understand English. Your map has repeatedly been critiqued, yet you paid no attention to it. The part of Outback where you're against a fence and a hallway "building" has been horrible since it was first created. And every version that you have made, you did not fix the complaints coming from so many testers.

So I give you a choice - I'm nice like that. Accept our critique and learn from it, or get out.

SWATY, since the beginning of time people have been complaining about balance issues and the fact that the map isn't fun. And the visuals are sub-par in quite a few places.

Don't put on blinders and say the people you talk to think it is good, because that doesn't get the map anywhere. Your self imposed ignorance of the condition of the map not only hurts the map, but hurts the community's opinion of you.

Listen, or don't. But the benefits of listening are far better than the consequences of not.

Yeah remember in 65000 BC when you made that fire that kept leaning towards one side of the cave?

Purging removes all these helpful posts.

Doing it every time the map creator whines to the moderators puts us all a huge step backwards rather than letting us carry on.

Exactly, he either doesnt care about the feedback, or forgot it all since it was purged. Good luck with outback.

I agree with you S.W.A.T.Y.
Unless people randomly go around finding very small stuff to fix then i think it's pretty much perfect and there's nothing much more you can do to it really.

No. This post is counterproductive. This map is not done and needs a lot of work to improve it.
