Eureka Mine stage 2 - Functionally a single-stage map, this is stage 2 of 3.

Beyond the facade of the old Red mine, Blue team is pushing deeper into more recently developed Red territory to discover what's really going on.
This is a very early alpha version of stage 2 of Eureka Mine. This version is playable as a single-stage.
I am hoping to create a third stage in the future and merge all 3 together.

New changes and general improvements

These changes have been made following the previous playtest:
  • Removed small upper spawn exit in Red spawn A.
  • Removed one-way door in area A right building.
  • Added ramp from right flank into window room in area A.
  • Added ramp from low ground of area A up to the bridge for easier routing.
  • Added chimney prop to shack in area A low ground to indicate it can't be stood on.
  • Added 2 more trigger_teleport brushes to Red spawn A to hopefully prevent Red players from being...

New changes

Based on feedback received and what was observed in the last playtest, the following changes have been made:
  • Expanded area A low ground and added more cover for Red team.
  • Reduced the length of the dam in area B.
  • Added an additional level and entry points to water house in area B.
  • Fixed gaps inside Red spawn 1 to prevent engineers from building in there.
  • Added more varied cover outside Red spawn 2.
  • Lowered a section of displacement to prevent obscene sniper sightline...

New changes

Based on feedback received and what was observed from the previous playtest, these changes have been made, this list is not exhaustive:
  • Area A is larger, with the bridge for the cart being longer.
  • The AB connector or "spire room" has been changed completely.
  • The dam building in area B has been changed.
  • Red spawn 2 now has a second large exit.
  • A sightline blocker has been incorporated into area A.
  • The small shack in area B has been made larger and helps to block...

General improvements

Based on what was observed in the last playtest and the feedback received, several changes have been made. They include:
  • Addressed a bad sightline in area A.
  • Made it more clear that certain roofs cannot be stood on.
  • Made the shack roof in area A able to be stood on.
  • Removed second blue building outside Red spawn 2.
  • Shortened the distance for the cart to travel in area B.
  • Made the cart lift wider.

a12 New changes and general improvements

Based on what I observed in the latest playtest for a11, and from the written feedback changes made include the following:
  • Removed dam building upper Red defense room.
  • lowered the brightness of blue spawn.
  • Removed second entrance into blue left upper flank in area A.
  • Added player clip to the roof of the low ground building in area B.
  • Lowered the height of the ramp up to the right window flank in area A.
  • Minor geometry and visual changes.

Based on the feedback received and what I observed from the previous playtest changes have been made including the following:
  • Added a bridge to cross the deathpit in area B which also takes you to the top level of the dam building.
  • Changed where the AB window rooms will place you when you drop down.
  • Made the main choke in area B more spacious by sacrificing space in the low ground house.
  • Increased red team respawnwave time in area B from 4 to 8.

Based on what I saw in the last playtest, I have made some changes including, but not limited to the following:
  • Removed blue side entrance to the dam building in area B.
  • Shortened the dam bridge to not go all the way over to Red side.
  • Shortened the left drop down in the AB connector to make blue players enter closer to the main entrance.
  • Gave blue a longer respawn time in area B.
  • Added geometry to the capture area of A.
  • Closed off an exit in the blue right upper...

Based on what I observed from the previous playtest, and the feedback that was given I have made some changes including, but not limited to the following:
  • Increased the descent speed of the cart lift.
  • Added a spy cuttout in the area A right drop down.
  • Broadened the entrances to the area A drop down.
  • Increased the heights of the roofs of several buildings in area A to make it more clear that they can't be jumped over.

This version aims to correct several big problems with many previous versions. Based on what I observed from the previous playtest and player feedback, changes have been made but are not limited to, the following:
  • Area B has been changed significantly.
  • Area A has new structures outside Red spawn. The shack has been replaced.
  • Area A right flank no longer has a ramp going up to the main area. Instead, a new underground route has been created.

The last 2 playtests went well! I am pleased with the changes made from a17 to a19. I could only justify making a few changes in this version based on what I observed and the feedback I read.
The changes made include but are not limited to:
  • Increased the time between blue team accessing/using Red spawn 1 after the A point is captured.
  • Added a set of small pickups to area B.
  • Minor lighting changes.
  • Slightly increased the width of the area A bridge.
  • Made Red spawn 1 doors...

Based on feedback received and what was observed in the previous playtest, several changes have been made, which include but are not limited to:
  • Red spawn is now only the spawn room at area B, they no longer have a forward spawn in area A. But, Blue team will still gain their forward spawn after the A point is captured.

Based on what I observed from the previous playtest and the feedback received, changes have been made which include but are not limited to:
  • Added a blue-only door in area A left flanks.
  • Changed the size and location of some pickups in area B.
  • Added some signage to the AB connector.
  • Removed the left one-way AB connector door.

New changes include, but are not limited to:
  • Blue spawn 2 has a new layout and a third, high-ground exit.
  • Red spawn back hold in area A has changed.
  • Area B has had some building sizes adjusted to better manage sightlines.

Changes in this version include, but are not limited to:
  • Area A has undergone some major redesigns
  • Area B canyon now serves as a better defined choke, with cover for the Red team.
  • Area B right flank starts on low ground, instead of leading straight up to the canyon high ground.
  • All AB connecting doors have been removed.
  • The catwalk in the area B dam building has been made only easy to access for the Red team.

The major change in this version is that the blue forward spawn has been removed.
Minor changes include:
  • Area B dam building second ramp near the tracks has been removed.
  • Area A is 256 units longer to hopefully help some issues with flanks and correcting the scale.
  • Red spawns 1 second faster in area B.
  • Area A left flank drop down has been removed.

Much of the feedback from the previous playtest referred to needing forward spawns for both Red and Blue. That has been the main focus of this version.
Changes include:
  • Blue forward spawn has been restored, except it will be activated when the payload cart begins to descend the cart lift.
  • Red has a forward spawn which will be deactivated when area A is captured.
  • The area B dam building has been updated so blast damage doesn't go through the second level floor.

a28 Minor changes

Based on the feedback received from the last playtest and what I experienced, I don't think much needs to be changed.
Noteworthy changes in this version includes:
  • Red team respawns 2 seconds slower in area A.
  • The satellite building outside of Red spawn has been remade with ramps.
  • The cart lift descends into the ground to be flush with the floor.
  • Minor clipping improvements.

The biggest change in this version is the second half of area B has been redesigned.
Change include:
  • Red spawn has been completely redesigned. It is now of the left of the payload track instead of the right.
  • Adjustments have been made in tight spaces where players previously couldn't pass the payload cart on both sides.

a30 Minor Changes

I couldn't think of any obvious major changes that were needed based on what I saw and read from the previous playtest, so these changes area fairly minor:
  • In area B, changed the geometry of the water house to hopefully be more useful to the attackers. With a high ground rafter's drop-down and a ramp leading from the cliffs to the top of this highground.
  • Removed the air pocket beyond the water house in area B.
  • Changed some pickup size and locations.
  • Fixed a bad clipping...
