May I suggest, that you clip off your building corners at 45 degrees and put a 45 degree displacement flush with the new edge, that you then round off so your buildings have more realistic corners rather than the unrealistically crisp edges you had before.

Absolutely.

As a matter of fact I was considering ignoring much of the actual reference material using more of the fantastical Persian style architecture as well.

PL or CP definitely. CTF doesn't get as much play out there, and CTF maps don't give you as much freedom to really make the most of the theme. An A/D CP or a PL would be ideal. Maybe you could even toss together a small KotH as well since they're quick to make and would make a good short-term showcase.

Actually I think CTF would be well suited for this style. But Keonyn is right; CTF doesn't seem as popular as the others.

Single stage PL could be fun. Middle eastern railroad is rather iconic already. So immavote PL.

I always enjoy ctf, and it seems to fit in with a theme like this. Payload sounds lke it could be cool as well, though you're paying so much attention to the cart and might not be the best showcase of a new environment. Plus I dunno how much sense it makes to push that car through the market, it'd probably need some custom work v:

I think a/d cp or pl would give players a nice showcase of the different designs you have, while ctf or 5cp would just give them an impression of a mirrored or turned map (of course, this can be done by making the bases very distinct as well).

I'm in the middle of blocking out a 5CP, and after testing and tuning, I think this style might be a good one for it. Hence why I voted CTF. :p

EDIT: Also, when are you guys gonna release these materials? I'm hoping it's not when a map made with them is made official. :c

CP map all the way. I won't go into why I hate CTF maps but I feel there's the same problem as with payload, people just pay attention to the intel instead of the cart. I'd say CP because it gives you the most freedom of environment layout and doesn't have to be symmetrical.

jondo and Alia are finalizing the assets. We found a few things that need fixing.
I'm good for a release of them anytime. When is Alia's call as most of the work is hers.

Anytime is fine with me. I'd like to get a big image or image set ready, with pictures of everything so you know what all is included. And whatever new models/textures are made for your new map, they can just be amended in.

I think payload would be interesting. Maybe start in a marketplace and work your way up a city into a palace or something.

If PL, I could make a new payload with a cart design. Maybe it's possible to have dug in trails in which the cart follows. Will have to figure out how to make that visually pop out.

A giant lamp shaped bomb cart with three capture points to "rub it" would be funny. Final point makes the genie come out at the end.

Hey guys,

Here's a link to download the assets. I might touch up a few of them in the future, and more models/textures will be added as we work on the new map, so I'll let you know when new stuff is available.

Wow, those all look fantastic. Love the golden rollermine, but I can't remember seeing it in Whark's map. Maybe that's just my bad eyes or bad memory.
