Hammer freezes when I try to compile

We need some kind of banner that appears for all unregistered users that's like "If you found this site through a Google search for a specific problem, please don't reply to the thread! It's probably like nine years old or something. Make your own."

I don't think this problem is exclusive to just this website. It's a reoccuring issue all over the world.

Or the site admins auto-lock all threads that haven't had a reply in say, 6 months?

The easiest way to see what's going on with hammer compile ie cntl+alt+delete - then open the task manager - it will tell you what's currently compiling - bsp/rad/vis and will also show how much of your resources are being used - it also gives to the ability to force quit the task running returning you back to being able to use hammer again.

It's faster to press ctrl-shift-esc to directly open task manager.
