Hey all. I've been messing around with mapping for a bit now, in the middle of working on my first serious one, and this seemed to be the place to be.
None already taken. I'm doing a KotH, using the Egypt materials to make a Roman Colosseum. Still in early stages in SketchUp, getting the place built.
Welcome to tf2maps, may I recommend not using sketchup for mapping, as the scaling tends to cause more trouble than it's worth. Otherwise, good luck!
Welcome to TF2Maps.Net You should draw layouts on paper, and then try to realize them in Hammer. Good luck PS: You might check out the tutorials section, there are some great things like the "Ultimate Mapping Resource Pack" by ABS.
Thanks for all the advice and welcomes, guys. Any other advice for beginning mapping? And why do I keep reading about the evils of using SketchUp?
Well, if you make models in Sketchup thats ok, but making full maps or huge parts of your map is not a good idea, trust me.
