Wutville - Payload map and stripes.

    A Payload map.

Ol Nick has lots of children under his employ; crafting gun and hats as per the legends of the Austrailian Christmas. He had them first create Wutville from some old grain silos and wooden crates as a place to live and work.

The little ones have finally had enough and hired the Blue Team to shove a train into Ol Nick's Bottomless Pit.

    Notes:

This uses the "Lil Chew Chew" train and cart system, both figurative and literally. I used them as the base and edited them from there. The wheels are still the same wheels as they still work with the new body. The cart is the same but retextured as well. I experimented with different shapes and railings, but this shape worked best.

This is version 1. There is more to come. Consider this my version of a "orange box" map. If you find bugs or potential issues, please let me know in the comments below.

my major immediate complaint from screenshots is that it looks like there's some REALLY long sightlines, enough to make sniper super powerful and probably enough to make far-z clipping plane obvious

the rounded geo is interesting tho and the models are neat

Cool original art style! The concept is the same as that of pl_hatfactory, but I like that map, and this one has a very different approach. I wish you the best of luck, r13! :)

I played it And just realized it's based of Docter Seuss's Whoville (Is it from The Grinch or Horton hears a Who?)

    Whoville is from "The Grinch"

Whoville is a small town of people who make xmas presents living under a grumpy dictator.

Wutville is a small town of people who make xmas presents living under a grumpy dictator.

I want to walk around in this map! The actual game-play would just be a bonus.

    Cheers :D

If you want company as you walk around... The bots play the map fairly well. They get caught in a spawn [Blue's] but a kick all and then reset them and they figure it out.

Thats with a fully unedited nav file. you'll have to generate your own, but it's doable for a L5 Dapper Mapper ;)

I found that the back corner, between B and C points, became a fierce spot that the bots clashed over. Not sure the same will said with full human teams tho. Maybe.

I walked around and found some issues, big and small.

Please add a step or ramp here- easy to get caught on it when returning to spawn

Can't push the cart when you stand here

Just ugly, same issue on another tunnel

Game breaking Z planes (all around 'A' checkpoint)

This goes without saying, but the map looks incredible, and it could be so better too! You had to work around a lot of limitations to make it. I will say however that certain areas feel repetitive and the concrete areas feel bland- but that is just nitpicking. Very awesome :)

I agree on all of these. the concrete areas have zero detail. I intend to spray the typical tf2 spy/tech themes around when i get to polish them.

right now i'm making the final version of some of the models i've put in there. Everything you see in here will get another pass. This is a very quick run to get the general idea out there, while i return to the production and make higher quality models that i can now just drop into place.
