Why are there nodraw brushs under displacements?

    A lot of maps in game have nodraw in and under displacements. I want to know why its there so I could use it in my own projects.

    Displacements don't seal maps, so the nodraw brushes under them act as that sealant.

    I believe they meant why displacements have this z-fighting seal on the left, and the pool beneath on the right. I would like to clarify that 'They do not' in reference that maps don't use this technique was misleading when otherwise your response was correct.

    This was referencing a now deleted post that stated displacements did that on their own.
