What's the "most fixed" remake/changed version of 2fort there is?
You don't just fix 2fort without making it a new map
and 2fort_upside_down or something
I think the one Terr did, forget the name.
I made an attempt to improve 2fort a while back. Some of the most notable changes:
Widened the central area to allow placement of large ramps from water to ledge.
Replaced the long hall spawnroom with a large room that connects the battlements, grate room, spawn, and sewer stairs (which now connect all three levels). I also removed the drop down from that resupply.
Added windows to the intel ramp and intel room to make turning those tight corners less of a surprise.
It felt like I needed to do more for the basement, but I couldn't figure out what. One thing I considered was adding a third route into the intel room, but I didn't want to disturb much of the already existing detail.
The windows in the spiral are brilliant.
I agree, quite creative and yet it helps improve the gameplay so, so much.
I actually wish they put that into the official 2fort, to be honest.
Otherwise they could replace the 'ye oldie' 2fort with the new and eye-plopping map
Maps do not get replaced, they will live on forever.
