what to do if: there is no Parent

Well, tinkering around (and fixing a rotating door), I've been trying to make a moving spectator camera to get my feet wet. The problem is: Info_observer_point has no apparent, parent selection box. which means I cant seem to bind it to the cycling camera prop

I don't know how it looks on your end, but info_observer_point has a Parent property. It is parentname with SmartEdit off.

it should be there, but that option isn't there (in all honesty, I think I need to check cache)

It's not part of the default .fgd. You HAVE to install the ABS-Resource-Pack for it to show up.
And being on this site for more than a day, you should have already heard about this pack anyways...
