    Map Submission Format
    Required: Exact Map Filename (ctf_example_a4)
    Required: TF2Maps.net file ID number, OR url to offsite download.
    __BZ2 compressed files are greatly appreciated to save time for the host.
    __May NOT be a hosting site like mega-upload (wait times, codes, excessive ads, etc).
    First time submissions, Required: TF2Maps.net discussion thread number.
    __My scheduling system uses this number, I need it, not the post number. (picture)
    If you need a specific time slot: Available time & your time zone.
    __Only use if you aren't available for the whole testing period and wish to attend your map.
    Would you like the SourceTV demo of the test?
    __These are automatically recorded at all times so there's no need to ask any more :thumbup:.
    If your submission is a single stage out of a multi-stage map, please mention this. (orphaned stage)
    If you are a donator with upload abilities, please say if you have already uploaded the map.

    Testing options
    • A time extension may be requested for mature non-arena maps in need of fine tuning (this includes orphaned stages).

    You can keep the same TF2Maps.net file number by clicking edit on your file's page and then simply putting a new file in the upload box. This makes it easier for you (don't have to update all your links!), easier for me, and less clutter on the site. (picture)

    Rules
    The map must be playable. This means fully functional objective system, proper spawns, not fullbright, etc.
    __The purpose of this testing is to help authors refine their designs, not catch newbie bugs.
    Filename MUST be versioned. (ctf_example_a1.bsp, NOT ctf_example.bsp)
    __Do not rename a bsp after compile. The vmf must be renamed before compile.
    Filename must be all lowercase. (ctf_example_a1.bsp, NOT CTF_Example_A1.bsp)
    __Our Linux servers don't work with uppercase names.
    Map must be IN DEVELOPMENT, finished maps do not require testing.
    Map may NOT use a point_servercommand to alter any variables.
    Map must be designed for normal play.
    __This means no melee, class restricted, too small for 24 players, or otherwise gimmicky maps.

    • You may NOT reserve a submission without a download.
    • Non-compliance with rules will result in rejection of the submission.
    • If an author has more than one map they want tested, they must be submitted to separate days.


    Information
    • First come first serve, until the 3 hour period is filled.
    • Maps will get 30 minutes playtime, KotH gets 20, Arena and orphaned stages get 15.
    • Submissions will be limited to 3 hours of testing.
    Last map can exceed the limit so long as most of the testing happens within the 3 hour period(30 minute test starting at 7:40 EST is allowed, 30 minute test starting at 7:50 EST isn't)

    SourceTV demos

    Just out of curiosity....

    This means we only need to ask for the recording, not to actually record it? :huh: Because in that case I would like the recording, but don't all mappers want the recording of the play test? So shouldn't all the demos be uploaded automatically and deleted after a set amount of time?

    They usually are, but our fetcher is down, so people need to manually pull them. I think Harribo can do that now, so he should have them posted within a day.

    Yes I'm able to directly grab the demo from the server now so they should uploaded and posted on this thread soon after the event.

    The Asylum i'm trying to get the Capture Crits turned off for you but no server staff are online atm so I might not be able to.

    IcyEyes and Aman9 both have problems with thier HUDs on thier maps but they're not major problems, A B.A. Survivor your map has the error "Warning: overflowed CClientRenderablesList group 7" come up on screen when playing but is doesn't break the map, have a look at this LINK to see what the problem is.

    Also your .bsp file size is nearly 10x the size as other early alpha maps and over half the filesize of this Gameday's mappack, whatever content your packing into there is unnecessary for people to have to wait and download when realistically only checking out gameplay issues at the early alpha stage, please review that before submitting your map again.

    Asylum, you can manually set your capture crit time within the game. Just use a logic_auto and send a "SetCTFCaptureBonusTime" output to your tf_gamerules with a parameter of 0. Now, keep in mind I haven't tested this myself, but in theory it SHOULD work.

    darn it.

    I got on at 6:25pm EST and my map's (cp_sacred_pa01) test run was just ending? Did a map get dropped out or something? I said no early then 6:30 EST because of work, but the test must have started at around 6:00. Next time I'll just ask to be made last and hope we still have players then.

    Just have to wait for the demo I guess......

    I don't what's was up with the server today but it was having a rough time so sorry but i only have demos for the first few maps

    A B.A. Survivor your map crashed the server when I changed to it, twice. It worked fine on a listen server when I had a walk through it but I assume the problem I wrote about above is what causing it.

    IcyEyes, for some reason the regular map times i.e. The amounts of time each gamemode gets, was shorter than it should have been and one of the maps before yours had to be skipped as it crashed the server so I'm sorry you didn't make it to play your map.

    I'l try and see if I can make time to leave some proper feedback on the maps that authors didnt get demos for.
