Unbalanced Map Ideas

    Have you ever wanted to make a TF2 map based off something, but the whole thing would be unfun with huge sightlines or flat gameplay? Well share those ideas here! I myself want to make a map based off a bulk-buy store, or even just a regular Walmart type store. But those would be flat and likely have huge sightlines.

    A map that have addconds that dont makes any sense.
    Like going at sanic speed, or insane jump height, etc
    (like the secret addcond I had in tekton lol)

    I once worked on a huge forst with thick white fog for some custom gamemode. Stoped pretty early after running into compile issues and starting to doubt if this going to be fun.

    And recently I tried to make a kill confirmed mode with the player destruciton entity. The capture zone is all over the map so people just had to run into eachother, kill and grab their points. But since you can pick up points dropped by team mates I scraped this idea as well.

    Speaking of scraped maps, I have 4 unfinished maps because the custom gamemodes which the maps were for, were either scraped or put on hold during developement :I

    I tried to remake the Mallcrasher heist in Payday 2 into an Attack/Defend CTF map for TF2 but I stopped 1/4 of the way through seeing that the large sightlines I would have to make to keep the project true to it's source would be unfun/imbalanced. (And I wanted to work other things.)

    At one point I had the idea to make a map where players spawned in the upper floors of an apartment building. From there they had to go downstairs to access the bottom level which led to the objective. But I've given up on that idea before I first downloaded hammer.

    My first map ever was gonna be a 5 cp map based on my house. The thing is, it would be symmetrical, but vertically. I then realized that the team that spawned on the upper floor would have the height advantage, so I scrapped that.

    I was going to make a KoTH map based of a church camp I used to go to. The fight was an uphill battle, with the capture point on the highest point. Both teams would start on the bottom. I dropped it because the sightlines were awful. I also dropped it because I was lazy.

    One thing I'd like to do is make a map in space where the gravity changes based on point ownership what could go wrong amirite?

    easy to do just trigger it - added fun would be the roll the dice option from Halloween maps - constantly changing - lol

    A map where the only gameplay spaces besides the rooms around the point and the spawn rooms are cramped, narrow hallways. You have to take them to get anywhere.
