Hey guys!
I want to make a map where I need tropical water...
So I looked around and found this

This one is quite nice, and works well in tf2, doesn't look out of place either.

So I DL'ed the texture and put the 2 vmf's it in team fortress 2/tf/materials/water
Then I selected the textures, put it in my map and it looks like a giant ice sea

But I want the water like this:

What did I wrong?
The water is a nodraw brush just with the water tex on the topside, I have a env_cubemap over it (picked the water texture in the cubemap) and a waterlod control...
Also I tried the water with a HL2 sky to avoid cubemap problems... same problem... Plz help! :O

Do you even have a displacement with a sand texture underneath the water surface? Thats what adds the color as far as i can see.

When you say "ice sea", do you mean the water doesn't move? You added the %compilewater and such to the VMF?

Otherwise, I'd echo Joodude said about the texture-scaling value.

I think he is trying to get rid of the bright white shimmer on the water surface.
