So, to be useful to both us and the now official Wiki, I was going to write up the TF2Maps.net Article. There's currently a placeholder one. I spoke to Drp about it, and he told me to post here to get some of the needed help. This is what I was thinking in terms of what's in it:

--Introduction with things such as who we are, what we do, and maybe a little statistical information, like unique hits in June.
--A brief History of TF2Maps.net. Who were the first admins? When did it come to be? Etc.
--Content. What do we provide the TF2 Community (Maps, Tutorials, Playtesting, Contests, Tutorials)
--Staff. Who are the current Staff Members and what are they known for. Maybe a short paragraph on Donators and what they get?
--Contest. A section on the previous Major contests we've had and the winning maps. Some of the mini contests we've had.

So what should I add or remove? And do you guys have any ideas on what to say for the Introduction?

    For the Content section,

"New authors striving to create popular maps can find tutorials on Hammer, Level Design, detailing, optimization, and mapping shortcuts. Anybody with a map can submit the map for playtesting - scheduled tests happen weekly and Impromptu testing occurs daily. After a test, the ones who took part can give feedback to the authors on their map's own topic. There's a section for custom textures and models too. There is an annual Major Mapping Contest and many mini contests in between. The major contests have big prizes, while mini contests are usually just for fun. And of course, TF2 has its own board to discuss updates and the like."

    Look good?

EDIT: I was told this seemed too much like an advertisement. I totally agree, and am fixing it.

It's sounding a little less like a Wikipedia article and a bit like an advertisement, but only slightly.

"TF2Maps.net is set up as a forum. Maps, models, textures, and tutorials have their own threads where feedback and discussions take place. There are a variety of maps found at TF2maps.net, of any gamemode, environment, or stage of development. Mappers of any skill can be found - well known ones such as Nineaxis or MangyCarface, and less popular mappers such as Saint Jimmy or Aly. There are tutorials regarding topics such as Hammer, Level Design, optimization, detailing, and flow. Playtests are held regularly that provide feedback for creating a better map. Major contests occur annually, with mini contests, like detailing a small area, in between."

    Better?
