The 72hr Summer Mapping Contest June 27th @ 4PM EST, 2014 to June 30th @ 4PM EST, 2014 Rules and Regulations | Upload Thread | Voting Thread So after a bit of a mess, the final results are actually here! FIRST PLACE pl_inari_72_a5 SECOND PLACE ctf_redplanet_72_a4 THIRD PLACE cp_alex76_72_a4 Congrats to the winners! This was the closest I've ever seen any contest here! Sorry again for the mixup with the previous vote. It was entirely my fault and you can all yell at me now.
Congrats to the winners! I think it's good to see that the voting trended to good/interesting gameplay rather than theme or detailing.
I'm very thankful for all who voted, I certainly didn't expect first place, but I am very grateful to everyone for it. I am also glad the tread is changing from details to gameplay
Hey guys, I'm typing this from a hotel room in the middle of no where New England. The current results of the 72hr contest have been pulled down because of a mis-counted vote in the original voting thread that has directly affected the outcome of the top 3. This one set of votes was mistakenly counted as a legitmate voting entry, when it was infact not the case. I have personally reviewed and recounted the votes myself from my hotel room to confirm that this was the case, and to confirm the new map vote numbers. The good news is that the previously announced top 3 maps do not move out of the top 3. They are now, however, in a THREE WAY TIE for first. Since this is the case, we will need to revote to determine the order of the top 3. (Sorry!) I apologize personally to Alex, Aly and MLJ for having to wait another 3 days for the proper results. I would feel horrible if this issue was not addressed and fixed immediately, as it could be robbing authors of the ranking that the community feels they deserve. Anyone can message me on steam or on the forums with any questions you may have, and I will try and respond to them as soon as I can. EDIT: As of August 1st, 2014, the results posted in the main post are infact the accurate and correct results.
And I apologize for messing up the original count! Sorry everyone! This is why I can't be in charge of things!
Congrats to the winners. The contest was a lot of fun but I unfortunately didn't get much feedback on my map. If it is possible, could some of you guys check it out and let me know what you think? It ended up looking nice but I think the gameplay needs work and I'm not sure what to change. http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=22804
