Textures dont show?

i draw something
i look in camera.....no texture?
so i go view>3d texture polygon

still doesnt work
every tutorial i read/view they draw....texture shows
all i get is a wireframe

another thing is that when they press escape...
my wireframe goes away completely
..........help
another thing is that when they select an object, and use the shift + drag the object up to duplicate.....i just move the thing....

as u can see im a complete ametueur.....

(i use the white cube looking brush)
i have all of the orange box installed

You have to hit enter to make that brush appear. Sounds like you make the brush size but aren't hitting enter to make it make a brush.

Now it should have that damn ambulance texture that should've been placed in a folder, but it wasn't and it used to bug the hell out of me. Now that Youme's map is official and it has the ambulance we all get to see it as the first default tex no matter what. Grrr...
I'm gonna make a texture called 'A', that'll fix it.
Guess I'm straying now...
