What's the idea behind nerfing pyro melee weapons? First the Axtinguisher, now the Powerjack. The pyro is close range class, shouldn't players be encouraged to use melee?

The problem was that pyros only ever used the axtinguisher(and then only the powerjack) so they presumably did this to promote loadout variety. Personally, I think a buff of pyro's other melees would've been more sensible, but then again ,what do I know about weapon balance?

Besides, the Powerjack is still perfectly viable.
