An update to Team Fortress 2 has been released. The update will be applied automatically when you restart Team Fortress 2. The major changes include:

  • Additional improvements for client stability
  • Added a check to prevent building in trigger_hurt areas
  • Fixed seeing bumper cart icons for deaths while in hell on maps other than doomsday_event
  • Fixed not hearing localized audio while connected to a server using sv_pure
  • Updated pl_upward
    • Added stairs to forward Blue spawn underground
    • Updated the trigger hurt in the outer cliff area to cover the bottom of the map

Sorry, it's been a while since I played that map, do you have a before/after comparison shot?

"Additional improvements for client stability" what does that even mean
Hopefully, it means less crashing.

Practically, it means they're hiding something, or threw something in to make it look like they're hiding something. (The joke in Nintendo-land is that the last 20 or so 3DS/Wii U updates have no patch notes but "updated stability".)

I paused the download earlier so I could let it run when I'm in the shower instead of when I need my Internet, and now that I have done so I come back to find it stuck in an endless loop with the download status listed as "Validating".

Is my hard drive dying or something?

EDIT: Oh wait, I had Hammer open, is why. This was different screwy behavior than what I'm used to when that happens, so I didn't catch on.

Valve extended their trigger_hurts and gave them a new flag,
so they didn't have to add func_nobuilds? Or how am I meant to understand this?

I don't see any new flags in Hammer (unless they didn't update, which isn't impossible), so I suspect that all trigger_hurts are now permanently also func_nobuilds (though only when they're alive and doing damage, since I haven't seen any problems with people building near the last points of payload maps).
