An update to Team Fortress 2 has been released. The update will be applied automatically when you restart Team Fortress 2. The major changes include:
    • Fixed older replays/demos not correctly displaying certain particle systems

    A really really important update.

Meanwhile, the TF2maps thread listing map faults remains largely ignored for 2+ years .

I, for one, am extremely grateful that they released a fix for this as soon as they could. We were just about to record the next TF2mixup off some demos that had suddenly become unusable. The video will go in front of 1.5 million people, and we want to have it out as soon as possible. So the timing of the bug couldn't have been any worse. But they were quick to respond when we emailed them about it, and they said they were working on it, so we didn't need to figure out a workaround. Now our video editor can waste another weekend on mundane video editing instead. +1 to Valve.

At the same time, I do know what it's like when they seemingly ignore an issue for days, weeks, months or years. I don't know what's up with that. -1 to Valve :p

More poignantly, about half of my demos make the game crash to desktop when I try to open them.
