I have looked for a tutorial and seem to find any, so is even possible?
It would probably work to compile the map with Half Life 2's Hammer, because Garry's Mod, at it's root, is a mod for Half Life 2.
As far as my maps so far, they have been added automatically to garry's mod. but you should be able to just copy the .bsp from your Team Fortress 2/tf/maps folder and just drop it into GarryMod/garrysmod/maps
