Strange/broken displacement Shadows

I'm getting some very strange shadows on some displacements i've made for Crusoe. I thought at first they were prop shadows, but I recompiled without props and they still appear.

Those sharp lines around the edges of the first one are the edges of the displacements, so i very strongly suspect this is some editor wierdness not just a shadow in the wrong place. Both displacements are in direct sunlight.

Yeah, I know about all the other displacement issues. These are well above the player's eyeline so mostly not a big deal, and largely hidden by props, but the two massive blotches are super obvious.

Try viewing the light map grid in the 3D view port, as I've had lighting problems because big displacements can change the scale of the light map. Also check if anything is in the 3D skybox (that is if you have one) that could be causing the big shadow.

Lightmap grid is normal - same size as the faces around it, or very slightly otherwise.
