is there any way from keeping certain classes from going places?
If you're talking about making a door that won't open for scouts or an invisible wall that demomen can't pass, then no, not yet. When we sent a letter of requests for Valve, I believe there was something on it about class-based sorting and triggers. But I wouldn't hold my breath for something like that coming soon.
What you're describing are the filter entities. As Hawk said, these are broken for TF2 atm
