Starry Eyed!!!

    Got the starry night skybox texture to work and its a nice piece of work.....

    BUT - how do I get the map darker, as without a light environment its too bright.....try to add on and it made sod all difference....:cursing:

    Any guidance would be warmly welcome! :D

    Did that with the dull light and went down to 25!! Still made no difference......

    ....I have not created a 3D skybox yet and placed the light_environment in the map itself.....

    PS - cheers for the headsup to the new section - all the old WIPs I presume are archived?

    Close the map with skybox brushes (or use the cordon tool). And set ambient brightness as well as light brightness.

    if your looking for dark...15-25 brightness isnt bad. probably will want around 10 for hdr. Go for a more yellowish light on the enviroment if your going for a more natural feel.

    the other lights around will need to be very bright (like 400 to 600 minimum) so they get the effect of looking from dark into light. even a 150 looks fairly bright, but has a more subtle feel to it.

    that will get about the effect of...
    (this doesnt look as dark if your whole screen is covered with it. the bright webpage causes the eye to make the image look black May want to dl the map to get the effect)
