    High up in the mountains, a rocket was mysteriously abandoned by its original creators. Red and Blu quarrel over the valueable information it could contain.

    This is my first map, a simple arena map. I'm not sure if arena maps are allowed to be put into gamedays (they don't work well with lots of people), but I hope to do so. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, whether its glitches, gameplay issues or simple tips. Visual improvements won't be large until the move into Beta.

    * Decreased size
    * added more lights
    * changed position of spawnroom
    * added wall-like building between lift-room and rocket-room
    * added nobuild to the elevator
    * increased speed of elevator
    * decreased reset time of the elevator

    Looks like a good layout. Not sure if those walkways are too tall to walk over easily. watch that.

    You can submit arena for gameday. But the slots are only 15 min. That's usually enough to tell if there are any major gameplay issues. Arenas tend to be balanced at least from side to side if not for all classes. Just make sure there are plenty of spawn points and the game entities work so the rounds end.

    It seems that it had some serious problems (floating sentries, buggy elevator,) and I'm going to fix that in a2. Was there anything else (not gameplay issues, actual bugs) that was noticed on the gameday?

    Played this at gameday. Initial reaction: Way too big

    Here's some problems:

    -Way too open. When going down the ramps, the sightline is huge and snipers were at an overall advantage. Half my team was snipers.

    -No elevators. Engy's could build on them, they were too slow, and they are rarely used in TF2

    -Coming out of spawn, you are immediately thrown into intense action if you go into the building. I think you should give some buffer room between the spawns and the actual cap point

    -Some areas of the map, especially below the ramps, were almost pitch black.

    The map needs some work, but the main problem is scaling issues.

    @connect 4 - Thank you very much, those sorts of lists are just the sort of thing I need.

    @captainAngry - Thank you very much for testing, but I warn you that this version is fairly buggy. However, most of these bugs will be fixed in a2.

    I tried to download a2 but the filename was the same. You have to change the name of the file with each release because if the client has arena_sparrow and the server is running a map with the same name that is different in any way, the client cannot play on the server.

    Ok, the it seems the only big complaints at gameday I had was the staircase being missaligned. Surely there must be more than that!? :huh:

    Wait.... RED and BLU are fighting over infomation?

    Unfortunately, the rocket past its sell by date. The teams had to go with the info instead.:thumbup:

    I wasn't on the server when it was played so I don't have any specfic feedback but the map did get some decent ratings. I captured a demo when there were people on the server so there might be something useful in there.
