    Welcome to pl_smissmaseve - a holiday themed payload map, with a real Smissmas vibe!

    In a world full of bullets and cheer, a lack of holiday maps further than hallowed and wacky brings down the winter spirit. Let us rejoice in the merriment of Smissmas by shooting at one another!

    Original map was made during December of 2014, but after a 7 month hiatus was recreated with a new design that also payed homage to the original map by using a similar layout!

    Using the feedback from gameday, I was able to push out an a4 on the same day, only 12 hours later :)

    Enjoy forward spawns, better defence and not getting lost!

    I haven't played this map yet but from what I could see in the A3 video it looks really neat! I'll definitely try to join the next gameday/imp it's being played.

    Hey man, just watched your video on A3 and I can't really give any feedback on gameplay, but I can give a little on routes and what not.

    So a few of the routes (ones you said weren't be utilized much) seemed a little cramped. A good rule of thumb is to make your ceilings at least 192 units tall unless you're going for a tunnel-ish feel. For the width, I'd try not to go any narrower than 160 units. Some of your doorways look a little narrow as well. A good size for a single person doorway (imo) is 128x160.

    Of course, this is all just opinion, but those are the guidelines I try to follow as it helps keep the map more open and all routes more welcoming. Players don't feel as vulnerable.

    Looking forward to playing this map. Hopefully I'll be around for the next test!

    Thanks man, I've been working on opening up doorways, as some in my first few tests became gore splattered to the extent that my fps dropped to ~30 from my usual 200. This is all open to change, like in A4 I have completely moved a red spawn to the less used balcon on last, and gave it a platform to help facilitate and break up the defence of last. This have been further changed in what will be A5.

    The building of first is going to get some reworking. That's for sure.

    Alpha 5 is now live! Mostly a balance pass on the 1st building, trying to make that less of a soldier-fest and allow flanking, sniping, jumping. Allowing the things. Have fun!

    Alpha 6 now released, with much needed changes to blu's spawn area and last, along with a lot of other changes to help smooth gameplay over.
