    Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, I know I am seriously late to the party. Anyways, I would like to present my map for the contest (second try). The name this time is ctf_slushway! Most of the complaints about the last one were regarding the fact that it was too large, but felt convaluted. People also commented on my awful brushwork. Well, this time, I made the entire map in 16-32 brush. Well, this time, I also took the KISS principle, and made the map as simple as could be. Anyways, I hope this is better than the last one, and that I get it in a "finished" state before the deadline.

    Before you ask why there is no download, or screenshots, the reason is because they are uploading. Thanks for giving me a second chance :D

    How big are the screenshots if it takes more than a couple of seconds to upload them?

    I was uploading them at the same time as the map. However, I just realized an areaportal glitch, which needs fixing, so the map wont be up for a while. Screenies in a few seconds!'

    EDIT: I left them to upload, then came back. For some reason, I got 404'd Il try again.


    DoubleEdit: Well, I went to do a final cubemap-making ceremony and now my TF2 wont start. Valve is investigating.

    Spawns aren't filtered.
    Spawns look easy to camp.
    Huge file size from swamp pack, and still missing some model textures.
    Collisions on boat and chainsaw make getting around middle.
    Only 2 doors in and out of base.
    Spectator camera is tilted.
    Can't distinguish team from look at the outside of base.
    Inside of base has a number of locations for demos or soldiers to camp up high.

    Can you tell me which model textures?


    I am working on spawns: what do you think about a 'no explosives' zone around the door areas.

    LOL about the spec cam

    I really do need to work on texturing, though

    Do you have any suggestions to fixing the issue with camping, though? Is is like camping on campable thing things, or using ledges that I didnt totally seal up?


    Im working on a second floor for the base, which I think should fix most of your complaints: More spawn exits, more intel routes, more entrance/exits for base, lower ceiling, so less demo/solly spam.

    EDIT: Thanks, this feedback is much nicer than what I got for my last map. At least this time it's 'fixable'

    DoubleEdit: Oh ya, reading through your comments again, what do you mean by "filtered"? I have no entry's on them for both teams that worked on my computer...

    Gameday Bump!

    OK, things to be added in the next version:
    -Removal of the middle health-pack
    -Make the main base smaller
    -Make the balcony accesable
    -Give more health/ammo emplacements for attacking team on middle.


    Any suggestions?

    BLU spawn is missing a wall, and RED can jump over the locker to get into their spawn. The layout has much to be changed, especially the dizzying height difference at some points of the map. The balconies are several stories above the actual ground. The whole map, in fact, has a turbine feel to it. One massive middle with entrances to it on one wall only. It makes the game feel less fun and dynamic than it should be.
