so i have my sky box set up and its seemless but how do i make it seem like there is land that stretches far out or objects in it like a farm house in the background. I just am sick of google-ing it and getting no good answer.

okay, so you want to create props in the background, like this?

well... just make the ground in the skybox extend far enough out it looks like a good horizon, and use skybox props (usually are named *_skybox.mdl) to place some stuff out there. There are also skycards that simulate terrain at the horizon line.

There's not much else to be said, it's up to you to make it look good and fit your map.

Wait, so, you already have a 3d-skybox? or you want to learn how to make them?

    5th google result..

Hopefully you can take the initative beyond that, by adding skybox models as Nineaxis has said.

One of the easiest methods to creating your 3d skybox is to create your skybox at a normal scale, then select all your 3d skybox geometry, then go to Tools-> Transform (and make sure the Scale button is ticked) and type .0625 into each field. This will scale it down to 1/16.
