shadows at displacement seams

    Any suggestions on whats causing this? The textures look fine in hammer. VRAD is causing nasty shadows where my displacements meet.

    I think its because they are separate displacements, so it actually blocks the light slightly in that area, but I don't use displacements much. What direction is the light coming from?

    just an arbitrary sun angle. But you can see in that screenshot that the shadow directions vary. It's odd, I've used displacements before without this result

    are the displacements only on one face of the original brush ? i.e you havent misclicked and made them 6 sided displacements ?

    lol! Got it. I accidently put the -fast parameter in vrad rather than vvis. I didnt even know vrad had a fast option. Thanks anyway. :)
