    Hi all,

I am currently working on my first ever map, and although I am stoked with how it is coming along, I know its not up to the standard of most of the maps on tf2maps.net, subsequently I want to test it a fair bit before I "release" is to the internet, as your all scary. The problem is, with my current internet, router and modem set up I cant host servers due to port restriction (they cant be changed, trust me i have tried). So my question is, is there a site or something were you can have your map hosted so that you and your buddies can all play? and yet still have control of all the commands ect...? like I have a server for my clan to play on, but that is pre set up and cant host custom maps? The reason im not just uploading it here and trying to test it with everyone is I have a few major issues and concerns with site lines and team balance that I want to sort out first.

If you don't nt to fork out the money to actually rent a source server, getting either a friend to host it or uploading it onto our servers here are your choices.

We test maps here. We try to be nice, well, most of us, and if you throw your map to us we can find the glaring problems quickly, we won't bite, and then you can put it into a game day.

haha im sure you guys would, in general be positive, and I am happy to pay for a server, (probs should have mentioned I live in Australia) and dont worry I cant wait to get feedback from people who actually know what they are doing. But I dont know were to look for a server? would you mind elaborating on what a source server is?

also, thanks for the feedback :)

There are server rental services if you're really interested, but the best option is probably throwing it up for testing on our servers.

I live in Australia also, playing on the us servers is annoying but tolerable.

If your looking to host your own, google Australian tf2 serves or look up internode.

And when I mean source server, I mean source engine server, the game engine tf2 runs on. Source servers are at the base, the same, so any provider that hosts counter strike, g mod or l4d servers should theoretically be able to host tf2 servers.
