Hi, I am the leader of the ctf_hearth team and we are looking for an additional collaborator.

What is ctf_hearth?

Ctf_hearth is an ambitious and challenging project that has been worked on for over a year. More precisely, it is an updated version of ctf_helltrain. It is a Halloween themed map that consists of two gigantic haunted-house-trains that move through real environments that occasionally change. Major changes include a revised art pass, critical layout changes, and improved optimization.

What needs to be done?
Currently the map is stuck in purgatory, as we have run out of creative momentum. We are not happy with how mid and the front region of the map plays, and none of us can find a solution. The very concept of the map is so abstract that any change we make is almost entirely original and has never been seen in the game before. Furthermore, the frontal boiler region and mid are the most difficult areas to make.

What are the challenges?
In total, ctf_hearth is more of an incredibly complex sculpture instead of a usual map. Development has been long and arduous for several reasons: Managing space and volumes is incredibly difficult as the exterior and interior are dependent on each other. In other words, we can not cheat and make regions out of bounds. Even more, every room must contribute to game play and obey the laws of physics both mechanically and structurally. Finally, the map is heavily dependent on custom models and custom textures, as the map requires a huge amount of original content (we are approaching half a gigabyte). The map literally has to be a train!

Conclusion:
For this map to be what we want it to be, the front region and mid need to be revised. However, we cannot think of any new ideas that can solve our problems. We are looking for someone who can help us make creative decisions and actually implement them in hammer. Our current deadline for a near finalized version is early September.
