Rupture - A large, unatural, gash in the earth not made by man or machine. My first map with a MASSIVE deathpit under the point. I honestly have no clue what I'm doing, and I probably never will.
It's recommended that you include screenshots of your map. That way, you'll get more people seeing and downloading it! Also inb4 everyone getting Rapture and Rupture confused lol
You can go in game and bind f5 then take your screenshots and go to your screenshots folder in the tf folder then drag them into tf2 maps and their you go.
Um, that's not worst problem. The main problem are the spawn doors which I have locked open because they won't be open otherwise
Your map won't be able to be playtested if it is fullbright, since it will make all maps played afterwards fullbright as well. You can start by adding a light_environment entity with some of the settings listed here. Also, are you using the doors included with the ABS pack? Make sure to include the necessary filter_activator_tfteam entities, and that your doors follows these instructions. Here's another handy guide. It's a checklist of everything your map should include before going Alpha. I'd recommend it to any mapper just starting out.
Actually this is false, the server automatically re-enables mat_fullbright on the next map that has lighting. That still doesn't mean you should skimp on adding lights though - when a map is fullbright, it's very hard to tell similar textures apart and your sense of perspective is completely screwed.
I've done all the suggested changes to make look nice (for an A1). It supposed to look like it is being ripped apart by the rupture under the point during the night but I don't know skyboxes.
How does thanking you even help the community? It's intangible internet points that give you a more flashy name when you reach 300, and you alone. And if you had read the thread you would see that KubeKing had already left a comment about lighting and even the same link to the sky list. Anger even replied saying that he had addressed the suggestions here. You could wait for him to upload an update before posting more about the lighting.
Ratings let people not leave useless posts like "Thanks!" or "I agree", which keeps the forum a bit cleaner.
I think I'll be taking a break from this map due to the COMPLETE ABSCENCE OF SUGGESTIONS ON HOW I CAN IMPROVE IT!
Most feedback in this community is given when the map is playtested, and it's on you to submit your map to a test. See here.
