I'm in the process of making a alternate-style CTF map (invasion gametype) that led me to use the rocket from CTF/CP Well (models/props_spytech/rocket003.mdl) for the center of the map.

Currently the model only provides RED and BLU textures... If someone would be awesome enough to provide me with a neutral-colored (thinking gray or something that works with the non-RED/BLU aesthetics) then I would throw in props your way when I release the map.

BTW I am also looking for a neutral textured cp_well rocket. I downloaded a modeling program last night, but haven't had a chance to learn anything about it yet.

You need the rocket remodeled or just re-textured?

If you want a new model i can maybe find a hookup at my school that'll gladly make a rocket for ya to insert. Then you can have it look however you want, pink even if you so choose. Let me know, or email since i'll be at class in the morning i can ask around them if i see the email in time.

I think you can just do a quick re-texture, then simply edit the .vmt to include it as a skin choice. I don't know if it's that simple though. (If it is, I can probably do this for you)

@louiekidd: I'm just looking for a retexture. Anything that looks good and neutural :)

@Exuzu: I know absolutely nothing about retexturing or modeling or anything. I'm not even sure a) where to find the model in the steam directory, or b) where to find the texture for that model, if it's separate. If you think you can do this pretty easily, it would be greatly appreciated :) If not, I don't mind figuring out myself.

    Okay, well.

I made a quick retexture, saved it as rocket002c and rocket002c_bottom. Decompiled the original rocket003, changed the qc file to include my custom textures, and tried to recompile...

And I get a bunch of errors. Other than the fact that I can't get it to compile, it's done. A lot of good that does us.

I have no idea what I'm doing. Does anyone know how I set this up so that studiomdl actually knows how to run this thing?

Okay, I looked at a tutorial, and while I couldn't get the rocket003 to compile correctly (the bottom of it was always red) I was able to get rocket002_bottom to work right. So now there's a gray variant in the skin choices.

    The rocket_bottom looks great exuzu!
I still haven't had a chance to mess with modeling yet. I hopefully will this weekend.
Can you link me that tutorial maybe? :D

Here it is, it's hosted on FPSBanana, though. I know how much you guys love that site.

Just replace all the cstrike stuff with tf and it'll work.
